Best printer for notes?

Anyone able to recommend a good solid printer for creating notes / flash cards.
Pref A5 maybe be able to do colour but know ink prices are a total bugger down days so not sure what the go to is are they all still pretty much a scam?
Should I go Toner or Ink ?
In the UK have ZERO idea how much they even cost now days last I rememebr was cheaper to buy a new printer with Ink then buy the ink itself?

I'd never buy another ink based printer again, but I don't mind paying for the toner of a laser printer.

For cheap day‑to‑day notes, a basic mono laser is still the winner, then send colour jobs to a shop. I only use my inkjet colour label printer for small A5 batches where I want sharper colour that doesn’t smear, but the pigment inks are pricier, so I wouldn’t use it for big stacks of revision cards. UK toner refills are usually much cheaper per page than ink.
